Johann Sebastian Bach
Harpsichord Concerto No. 1 in D minor BWV 1052

Norbert Müllemann (Publisher)

Johannes Umbreit (Piano reduction)

András Schiff (Fingers)

Urtext Edition, Studien-Edition (pocket score), paperback binding

The Bach harpsichord concertos so loved by pianists are probably transcriptions of works originally composed for the violin. Bach however succeeded in transferring various specificities of the violin technique onto the keyboard with such refinement that even most contemporary pianists consider these concertos as an inseparable part of their repertoire. The first concerto in D minor is perhaps the favorite - if only by its first and last movements full of momentum, as well as by its impressive soloist part. With the reduction for piano and the study score (full score) of this concerto in D minor, Éditions G. Verlag opens a series devoted to all concertos for harpsichord by Bach.
