D'Addario VENN: a unique line
Developed by some of the best engineers in the business, the VENN line marks the dawn of a whole new era of woodwind innovation, combining the stability and longevity of a synthetic reed with the sound quality and playability of the cane de Provence. To mimic the natural structure of the cane, we analyzed it down to the smallest detail and then reproduced it by layering several layers of polymer fibers of different strengths with resin and natural cane elements to create the outline of this reed.
A unique layering of polymer fibers gives VENN reeds their natural flexibility, for a response and articulation similar to that of cane reeds. The addition of the resin makes VENN reeds resistant to weather and weather changes that quickly deteriorate natural cane reeds. Thanks to the Provence cane particles, VENN reeds benefit from a richer, warmer sound similar to that of natural reeds.
