The GB8 is available in 16, 24, 32, 40 and 48 microphone input versions. All models also have 4 stereo inputs with the particularity of being able to transform into a microphone input with switchable phantom power. The GB8 features 4 stereo effects returns that can be fed into subgroups or the main mix, 8 aux sends and 8 subgroups, plus an 11x4 matrix. The stereo master output, on two separate potentiometers, is supplemented by a mono master output. The GB8 is particularly versatile for front or return use thanks to the '' swap '' mode which allows the auxiliary outputs to be directed to the sub-groups. To facilitate its use, the GB8 offers, in its master section, 4 quick access mute programs, 11 level meters of twelve LEDs for the control of the different input and output levels, completed by a strip of 3 level meters on the outputs LCR. Each input is equipped with a signal level indicator with 4 LEDs. A recording output has a limiter to avoid signal saturation. The rear panel which gathers all the connections is, as on the GB4, inclined at 15 °. The purpose of this arrangement is to facilitate the cabling operations when the console is installed in a flight-case or in a hardly accessible space. Three locations on the top of the console are available for installation of gooseneck lighting. The electronic circuits of each input and output module are independent and mounted vertically, which makes maintenance operations easier and faster.
