The clarinet was the first instrument developed by Henri SELMER, a renowned clarinettist with the Orchestre de la Garde Républicaine and the Opéra Comique. Henri Selmer Paris has built up close relationships with generations of clarinettists from all cultures and at all levels, enabling us to offer each artist an original proposal tailored to his or her musical personality. Located in Mantes-la-Ville (France) for a century, their workshops are now the only manufacture in the world with the know-how to make the entire clarinet family.
An improved Prologue clarinet
Inspiring young and old to play the clarinet is the stated ambition of this new generation of the Prologue model. Attentive to current teaching methods, which place increasing emphasis on posturology and 'well-being' in playing, Henri SELMER Paris has designed new features for the Prologue model that make it easier to learn and progress on the clarinet.

The Prologue adds a touch of fun by allowing players to personalise their instrument with a choice of six coloured rings for the bell, which is unique in the world.
