The Cranborne Audio N22 is a solution developed by Cranborne Audio for flexible, high fidelity and cost effective audio distribution. Simply put, the N22 replaces 4 balanced XLR cables with a shielded Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 7 cable to carry 4 channels of analog audio over distances of up to 100 meters.
Cable management made easy
Connect 2 N22s together using a single Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 7 shielded cable and you can pass 4 channels of balanced analog audio (including 48V phantom power) between 2 remote locations. Use the N22 in the studio to connect the sound booth to the inputs / outputs of your audio interface, in a live setup to connect your mixing console to your power amps, or even at home to connect your surround speakers to your home theater system.
Less cable clutter
Using Cat 5e, Cat 6, Cat 7 shielded cable instead of 4 XLRs allows you not only to reduce cable clutter in your studio, but also to distribute audio to studios or stages across the board. Using affordable network cabling, while achieving the best sonic results thanks to the shielding and low crosstalk of Cat 5e, 6 and Cat 7. In addition, the N22 is completely passive and does not require any external power in order to carry highest quality audio over the longest distances. Each C.A.S.T. features a unique optimization to ensure that maximum signal integrity is transmitted over shielded Cat 5 cables over distances of up to 100m, without attenuation and with low crosstalk.
Advanced connectivity with 500R8 and 500ADAT interfaces
If your studio is already built around a Cranborne Audio interface such as a 500R8 or 500ADAT, you can connect multiple N22s to their C.A.S.T. Balanced input sources plugged into the combined inputs of the N22 thus arrive directly at the inputs of the audio interface ready for processing and recording. This same C.A.S.T. Also outputs a stereo monitor mix generated by the 500R8 / 500ADAT to the N22's balanced XLR and 1/4 '' jack outputs for monitoring or preamplification.
