Kalimba is the modern version of the traditional African Mbira instrument. The Kalimba has been developed and invented by Hugh Tracey (ethnomusicologist specialised in Central and Southern African music). It is manufactured since 1954 by AMI (African Musical Instrument), company founded by Hugh Tracey and his son.
Tuning can be modified by moving slightly the tines. It is recommended not to modify the tuning more than a semitone away from its original position.

Produit vendu sans housse de protection ni accessoires (marteau d'accord). Finitions moyennes (lame rayée).
Musicalement, cette kalimba sonne bien. Il faut un peu de temps pour s'habituer aux deux rangs de lames mais le chromatisme est appréciable.
