Pearl – A Tradition of Innovation
The handcrafted manufacturing process at Pearl is the result of a long tradition. From student models to professional examples, each instrument must accompany every stage of a flutist’s career. To ensure this lasting quality, the Japanese company has initiated a unique training program at its factory in Chiba, Japan, so that experienced artisans can share their expertise with new generations of workers.
One-Piece Core-Bar
The One-Piece Core-Bar manufacturing system, present on all the brand’s flutes, eliminates the recurring problems of models from other manufacturers that lack it. Indeed, Pearl has designed a rod that runs through the key axles, from high C to F#, which stabilizes the mechanisms, makes them more comfortable, for superior durability and less maintenance.
Pinless Construction
All Pearl flutes are built using the Pinless process patented by the Japanese brand. When combined with the mechanisms, this system eliminates one of the problems encountered by traditional makers: the small pins that catch on clothing and promote the infiltration of sweat and skin acidity. A phenomenon that can harm the instrument by causing corrosion and stiffness of the keys. This drawback has been eliminated thanks to the insertion of pin screws under the mechanisms, thus removing the need for traditional screws.
