With the MINI GO series, VOX offers a new generation of modeling combos designed to follow musicians everywhere without sacrificing playing feel. The MINI GO 50 sits at the top of the range: more power, a larger speaker, and features tailored for acoustic/electric performances in a compact format, busking, and rehearsals. Its modeling engine relies on VET technology, inherited from recent VOX developments, to reproduce the "amp" behavior (attack, dynamics, response to guitar volume) rather than just a fixed EQ.
The VOX MINI GO 50 is aimed at guitarists from beginner to advanced who want a compact, easy-to-use amp but complete enough to cover multiple styles without a pedalboard. It excels in home practice (headphone jack, power attenuation), rehearsals at reasonable volume, and especially in solo playing (guitar + vocals) thanks to the microphone input and built-in rhythms. Style-wise, it handles pop/rock to blues, funk to metal, and is very handy for more modern sounds thanks to high-gain style distortions and effects (delay, reverbs, modulation, octave).
The MINI GO 50 offers 11 amp models, including American and British inspirations, a practical LINE channel for electro-acoustic guitars or keyboards, and a Vocoder channel that interacts with the microphone input for original vocal textures. The effects section includes 8 treatments organized into two blocks (modulation/octave and delay/reverb) to quickly build a full sound without complicated menus.
For working on rhythmic placement and composing, the rhythm box offers 33 patterns (with variations) covering many genres, with adjustable tempo. The looper (up to 45 seconds) allows recording from guitar or mic and layering overdubs; it can also synchronize with the rhythm box to keep loops clean and musical. Finally, the MINI GO 50 features three user slots to save presets and recall them quickly, directly from the amp or via an optional footswitch.
Another key point for real use: the power attenuator (FULL, 1/10, 1/100) maintains the same gain and volume balance while adapting the sound level to an apartment, dressing room, or busy street. Power can be supplied via mains or an external battery (powerbank not included) for playing outdoors or rehearsing without a nearby outlet.
As a modeling amp, the VOX MINI GO 50 focuses on realistic tone and dynamic response, with a more organic feel than a simple "multi-preset" amp. Cleans can be bright and open, with good definition for arpeggios, while crunch tones build progressively while maintaining clear attack. Models inspired by British classics (including the AC30 spirit) bring that chime and snappy character very effective in pop/indie, whereas high-gain models deliver denser distortion suited for modern riffs and leads. The 8-inch speaker favors direct and precise projection, ideal for mobile playing, and the headphone output provides an exploitable sound at low volume for long practice sessions.
