The sound of the piano is mediocre, I find, the volume is really very limited. The telescopic stand to place the piano is way too high even in the lowest position unless you play standing up. I regret this purchase.

At this price, we have a very good value for money and I absolutely recommend it. Let's just ignore the overly conciliatory and poorly assumed speeches of essayists and speak the truth: 1) No, it is not at all the touch of an acoustic piano. Yamaha has expertise that makes the use, the touch, precise and pleasant certainly, but that's all. At this price, however, it is the most convincing. 2) No, the sound does not imitate an acoustic piano at all, you would have to be deaf to say that! The built-in amplifier is mediocre and so are the speakers. It's not a failure, but just open it to understand that no € was spent on the acoustics, dynamics, and frequency tuning of the full-range speakers used. Again, this is normal at this price. This gives us a very "digital" result with a lot of perceived distortion especially in the bass and low-midrange and a very soft rendering. Good news though, the HiFi headphone listening suggests that the source is of better quality than the built-in amplifier and speakers. So connecting the headphone output to an amplifier directly (especially not to a preamplifier to avoid saturating the input stage) could sound better than the built-in speakers and amplifier. I haven't tried yet but I bet that the series above the P45 have the same source but not the same sound/acoustic treatment. In the end, I insist, we probably have the best and most serious in the genre and for the price range, a must for a first purchase and a serious partner if your budget is limited: We have a device that allows you to take real pleasure in playing, to seek nuances. Its simplicity also makes it an easy device to repair and whose parts are easy to find. Let's just stop writing in articles and reviews that the sound and touch are realistic and be aware of what we are buying.

I just bought a Yamaha P45 piano but it emits a muffled sound on the entire left side of the keyboard like a mute effect. The bass, normal, clear sounds coming from the left side of the keyboard completely muffle the treble sounds coming from the right side of the keyboard. It is unusable as is.

I am very happy with my purchase. Honestly, most of the sounds are excellent (two piano sounds, an electric piano sound, and the strings). The touch is absolutely credible, it is very easy to use, in short perfect for beginners or amateurs like me. I also have no complaints about the speakers which sound very good.
