In the face of the undeniable success of the Katana product range, BOSS unveils this MKII version with many novelties such as:
  • New editor to let you control all new features and effects. Full control of the pedals
  • VARIATION BUTTON:
    • Adds five new amp sounds in addition to the five original Katana MKI sounds - These continue to model classic tube amps.
  • NEW DOUBLE POTENTIOMETER
    • New concentric control knobs allow individual control of each effect type. On / Off buttons for each effect.
  • The total number of effects available is now 65. New effects in Poly-Octave and Pedal Bend (whammy) - Some effects have been improved to fit the new MKII power
  • POWER AMP IN
    • All models have a dedicated power amp input (different from FX Loop Return) that allows the user to use a high-end multi-effect - directly in the power amp and class A / B speakers.
  • STEREO EXPAND
    • A brand new feature that allows you to connect two KTN 100s directly together to operate a "real" stereo Katana system. One becomes the master who enslaves the other unit. Effects such as Delay and Reverb can also be performed in stereo.
  • Full control of the amplifier using the GA-FC footswitch
Katana, the traditional sword used by samurai, is a symbol of honor, precision and great art in Japanese culture. Proudly adopting the name of this majestic sword, the Katana amps deliver rock sounds sharpened by decades of BOSS expertise. Born from the development process of the famous Waza amps, these innovative amps are BOSS's new attempt to provide the ultimate rock sound. Incorporating a proprietary circuit design and benefiting from meticulous adjustments, the Katana range combines traditional know-how and modern features to offer you real new generation rock amps.
With a power of 100 W and a 30 cm speaker, the Katana-100 produces a range of definitive sounds for the stage, which will allow you to meet the demands of all types of rock bands. The amp is also great for work at home thanks to its dedicated design for efficiency and innovative Power Control functionality, which delivers powerful sound and response even at low volume. The Katana-100 offers integrated access to 55 different BOSS effects, customizable at will with the free software BOSS Tone Studio. Up to 15 different effects can be configured in the amp in parallel, allowing you to have an arsenal of sounds ready to use in a single amp.

Incredible amp that I use to record directly into the Mac! An incredible range and customization. If possible, get the 100w version for its effects loop and especially make sure to get the BOSS GA FC pedalboard which allows you to have a complete pedalboard at your feet! Used only at home so far with Telecasters, ES335s, or Les Pauls, I think the amp is loud enough for a small bar or concert but I wouldn't feel comfortable setting everything up beforehand. I use it more like a big toolbox and then if I really like the sound, I switch to analog for live.

Well, it's Boss..... Obviously, it's sturdy. Its quality is beyond question. Watch out for the neighbors if you're in an apartment!! Very fast delivery (barely 48h). Kudos to the preparation team.

On the Woodbrass delivery side, nothing to report. On the amp side, after a few weeks of use: the sound is really great. Nothing to say. Not easy to handle given the possibilities offered by the beast but after that it's a joy. A real Swiss army knife. Take the 100W version only if you do concerts, otherwise no interest. At 100W it releases power like crazy. It's not a tube amp but it's slowly getting close. A few big black points though that are a bit of a stain: no built-in tuner. I would have appreciated it so I wouldn't have to carry the tuner pedal as well. The GAFC pedalboard is essential but the price is outrageous (compared to the price of the amp). And last point, I agree with Jean M's comment. The Boss website is really badly designed. For the update it's not very clear. Even if the app itself is not bad. In the end, it remains a very good amp given the sound quality. Very practical in all situations despite its flaws. I recommend it.... (Show more)
