Vox partnered with the legendary Queen guitarist Brian May to offer a signature MV50 model featuring the distinctive sound of this innovative musician.
Brian May made rock history with a significant contribution to the electric guitar sound. And that sound was achieved, among other things, thanks to the iconic VOX AC-30. It is therefore natural for the brand to pay tribute to one of its most faithful followers.
To reproduce the specific tone of this iconic guitarist, VOX not only redesigned the circuit of its MV-50 amp head featuring the new Nu-Tube valve but also took the opportunity to add a Treble Booster from KAT (Knight Audio Technologies), the historic manufacturer of the effect used by Brian May.
Like previous versions of the MV-50 head, this Brian May signature offers 50w of that specific tone in an ultra-compact, ultra-light, and very versatile format. Indeed, beyond its standard use as an amp head, it can be used as a preamp or directly into a mixing console or audio interface thanks to an integrated cabinet simulation.
