The genesis of the Signature

These saxophones offer great playing versatility, suitable for all levels of saxophonist, and form the natural link between the Axos family - entry-level professional saxophones - and the Supreme family - top-of-the-range saxophones. The Signature name emphasizes Henri SELMER Paris's identity as inventor and manufacturer, built up through its history.

In a nutshell

The Signature viola embodies the revival of the Super Action 80 Series II model, which has marked the history of the saxophone since its release in 1986. While retaining the sound characteristics of the Serie II, it offers improved accuracy, particularly in the treble, and favors emission from the lower register.
Its ergonomics, also inspired by the Serie II to meet the needs of all musicians, benefit from the latest innovations developed for the Supreme: new 3-point bell system for improved sound homogeneity, nickel silver clamping ring for greater density in this sensitive zone, octave key with Teflon bearings for greater mechanical fluidity...
Adorned with an original Art Deco engraving paying homage to the age-old gestures handed down from generation to generation at Manufacture SELMER, located in Mantes-la-Ville since 1919, the Signature alto is a saxophone that is both traditional and modern.

Calibration of jar inlet diameter and 3D manufacturing control to guarantee greater homogeneity in the manufacturing process, reducing acoustic differences between instruments, even if slight differences remain.

Acoustics

The Signature viola stands out for its remarkable acoustic qualities, offering a generous, round sound. These characteristics are appreciated by jazz saxophonists as well as by many classical musicians who identify with the French School.
Thanks to its new bocal bore, the Signature alto offers a significant improvement in tuning, by correcting octave ratios in the left hand and high register. In addition, the bocal facilitates the emission of low notes, providing an exceptional feeling of comfort.

Mechanics and ergonomics

3-point concentric clamping socket for improved jar-body junction
The clamping ring of the socket is made of nickel silver, adding density to this sensitive area. It is dissociated from the socket, enabling its position to be adjusted.
Octave key system with Teflon bearings to lighten the action and limit play, noise and wear.

Signature case: an exclusive case made by BAM. It features ample storage space and two detachable interior pockets. The shoulder straps offer great comfort when the case is worn on the back. The ABS shell is black.
Concept mouthpiece: with its innovative, refined design, the Concept mouthpiece benefits from new manufacturing technologies. Combining ease of use, richness of sound and great homogeneity in all registers, the Concept is a model of high acoustic precision.

Bi-material cloth: made to the shape of the case, with the front in microfiber reproducing the Signature engraving and the back in silk. It is placed on the instrument in the case to ensure maximum protection for your saxophone.
