Description

K21e

A travel-sized guitar built of some of the most visually and sonically striking tonewoods out there - the all Koa K21e is an exciting addition to the Grand Theater lineage of guitars, Taylor’s new and groundbreaking body shape. Using C-Class Bracing to achieve a fantastic low end presence and warmth - beyond what would normally be possible in such a small footprint - with a complete body of sumptuous Hawaiian Koa the K21e dishes out gorgeous top end harmonic complexity and fundamental clarity, with a bass response that will open up further over time as the guitar is played in. The GT’s body size exactly fits in between that of the GS Mini and Grand Concert - and combined with a unique scale length of 24-⅛ inch that creates a lighter string tension for a slinky feel while playing - this top end guitar is shockingly easy and fun to play, from fingerpicking to effortless strumming. To match the premium tone - premium details appointments are to be found everywhere on the K21e, with high gear ratio Gotoh mini tuners, Maple binding, exquisite Spring Vine inlay, black and Koa edge trim, a single ring Maple rosette and a gorgeous West African Ebony fretboard responsibly sourced from Cameroon. The K21e comes with Taylor’s sturdy Aerocase which offers maximum protection at home or on the road, making transport as easy as possible - and features natural and transparent sounding ES2 electronics.

Grand Theater

The newest addition to the Taylor family - the GT (Grand Theater) body shape is all about player comfort. Slightly larger than a GS Mini yet smaller than a Grand Concert, the GT packs sonic punch - with unique C-Class bracing helping facilitate a surprisingly good low end and punch, for a full scale sound in a short scale format. WIth its slight footprint and curves reminiscent of a scaled down jumbo - there is an inherent strength to the body that provides a punchy and confident voice, and low string tension (courtesy of it’s shorter scale length) guarantees next to no effort needed in order to set a GT into motion - making it the perfect format for players of all levels of experience, from those just starting out and looking for the easiest playing experience to the seasoned pro looking for the perfect armchair guitar to keep their fingers busy.

Hawaiian Koa

Hawaiian koa is a fairly dense tropical hardwood with a strong midrange focus similar to mahogany but with an extra slice of top-end brightness and chime. The more you play a koa guitar, the more of the bass range will blossom and grow - with strong midrange overtones adding a sense of warmth and sweetness to its voice and an overall harmonic sophistication and complexity.

Hawaiian Koa

A hardwood top such as koa produces a natural compression, so there tends to be more of a controlled, sustaining “roll-in” effect to a note. An all-koa guitar will produce a strong fundamental focus, with a splash of top-end shimmer. As a tropical hardwood, a koa top will initially project a bright and focused tone, especially together with koa back and sides, but as it's played, it matures into an increasingly warm, rich, sweet sound with healthy overtone ""bloom,"" especially in the midrange. A common mistake is when a ""bright"" player buys a koa-top guitar in part for its visual beauty, finds it to be too bright, and doesn't play it enough to allow the wood to develop its resonant tone. Goes Well With: Fingerstylists who play more with the pads of their fingers and tend to have a meatier touch. Bright players need to be careful because of koa's existing brightness.

ES-2 Pickup

If you need to amplify your sound, you'll love the revolutionary onboard ES2 pickup system. The 3 individual sensors located behind the saddle combine with the pro-grade preamp to deliver an unmatched dynamics, perfect for live or studio.
