Direct drive engine without nucleus ensuring stable rotation
The direct drive system uses a slow rotation engine to directly train the tray. This system has several advantages. It offers high performance, such as rotation accuracy and powerful torque, does not require the replacement of parts and maintains high reliability over a long period. On the other hand, the direct training system is deemed to produce a rotation irregularity called cogging. For SL-1200MK7, a new direct driving engine without nucleus has been developed. This engine uses a stator without kernel. The removal of the stator nucleus (iron core) eliminated the primary cause of cogging. In addition, the magnetic force of the rotor magnets has been improved at the highest possible level and the space between the stator without nucleus and the magnets of the rotor has been optimized, which makes it possible to obtain high torque performance equivalent to those of SL-1200MK5. With a regular rotation and a powerful torque, this engine reproduces the sound with precision and fidelity from the furrow of an analog disc.

Adjusting torque and braking speed
The latest digital engine control technology, accumulated thanks to the development of Blu-ray disc products, is applied to improve the adjustment by allowing the torque and the braking speed to four stages individually.
The PAS control function
The PAS control function allows a fine adjustment of the rotation speed in a range of ± 8% / ± 16%. It does it through a numerical order, from the detection of the cursor's position to the engine rotation control, thus eliminating the useless DA conversion. This considerably improves monitoring performance to obtain a precise and stable step adjustment.
game reversal function
The reverse reading function, which offers new creative performance possibilities, makes its first appearance in the SL-1200 series. In addition to the 33-1/3 RPM and 45 RPM, a rotation speed of 78 RPM is supported.
High sensitivity reading arm
The reading arm, which continues to support the avant-garde of the DJ scene for many years, inherits the universal reading arm in the shape of a very reliable static balance. Thanks to high precision bearings, it reaches sensitivity to higher initial movement than SL-1200MK6. This makes it possible to accurately follow the furrow of the phonographic disc and ensure excellent monitoring performance with a minimum of stylus jump, even in difficult reading conditions such as scratches.
