Excellent recorder. Even before playing it in speaks easily the higher register, the keywork ir excellent, and gives multiple options for certain notes to make fingering easier. Really stable tune, you can blow hard or soft, and only the volume changes (within a reasonable range of velocities). The sound is beautiful, rich and proud yet soft and melodious. Like all bass recorders, the lowest few notes are quiet, but the eavenness of the sound otherwise is really good.
The thing that strikes me the most is the agility of this big instrument. I can really easily play fast passages and the recorder reacts immediately. Also it doesn't take too much air to play, for me the limiting factor is how long can I hold air in before needing to breathe rather than me running out of air playing.
The only thing that wass missing from the packet was the recorder oil, though not a thing I need immediately. Joint grease came in a nice tube instead of the typical jar, so a tiny bit less greasy fingers after the set up. The joints are really tight in a new instrument, so careful lubrication of the joints is necessary.
The only downside in a new recorder is the tightness of the joints combined with the extensive keywork, so there is only a tiny space where to grab the instrument to separate the parts. for this I recommend careful greasing of the joint, both inside bore and the outside cork, as the tightness pushes out some of the grease out of the joint. So thin and eaven layer is much better than thick but spotty application.
Summa summarum, an excellent recorder.
