Descripción

So why a method on II-V-I? Simply because this cadence is omnipresent in modern music, all styles included, and it is thus necessary for any bassist to master it perfectly. But also because, in its major or minor form, the II-V-I cadence gives the opportunity to work "in situation" on the accompaniment of the different types of essential chords which are the seventh chord (7), the major 7 chord (maj7), the minor 7 chord (m7) and finally the half-diminished chord (m7b5). This method will therefore be ideal for perfecting your knowledge of the bass, but also for developing your creativity and making your lines both rich and melodic (accompaniment with the notes of arpeggios, use of diatonic passing notes, integration of chromatisms, etc.). In short, by becoming an expert in II-V-I, you will become an expert in bass! The method, which is above all based on practice, is divided into two distinct chapters dedicated to the major and minor II-V-I, in their long form (4 bars), then short (2 bars), and in different keys... in order to broaden your knowledge as well as your musical horizon. On the disc attached to the method, you will find several audio and video files. The videos (mp4) show all the bass lines in pictures, while the audio recordings (mp3) offer the corresponding playbacks.?You can therefore play the proposed examples yourself, and then freely develop your own accompaniments, using the learnings revealed.
