This brand new model, featuring improved action, a new selection of piano tones, Bluetooth connectivity compatible with the latest Kawai applications, and an elegant and refined new design, the ES120 offers the authenticity of a Kawai digital piano in an attractive, compact instrument with exceptional portability.
Kawai's ES series instruments are high-performance 88-key portable digital pianos suitable for use at home, on stage, in a recital hall or classroom. The latest ES120 features the Responsive Hammer Compact (RHC) action, which has been developed to deliver the most realistic grand piano feel in a compact, lightweight package. The ES120's RHC Compact action features weighted hammers in which all the internal felts have been replaced by a new material that helps to reduce mechanical noise, particularly when the hammer is released.
This authentic action is combined with Kawai's 88-note Harmonic Imaging stereo sampling, which reproduces the beautiful sound and authentic string and damper resonances of the new Shigeru Kawai SK-EX concert grand and the Kawai EX. The ES120 also features a new selection of electric piano, string and bass sounds from the ES520 model, as well as a true upright piano sound, offering a wide variety of essential instruments for playing all styles of music.
In addition to its realistic touch, weighted keys and catalogue of authentic grand piano sounds, the ES120 offers a variety of practical, modern features. The built-in Bluetooth® MIDI and Bluetooth Audio connection enables it to connect wirelessly to Kawai's dedicated PianoRemote and PiaBookPlayer applications, or to a wide range of third-party learning and entertainment apps, and to stream music from a smartphone or tablet via the piano's audio system without any additional cables. However, wired connectivity remains strong, with standard USB MIDI sockets and a 1/4’ stereo line-out jack providing useful options for home, studio or stage.
The ES120's 20W amplification and speaker system produce a rich, well-balanced sound with impressive power and clarity, while the new Low Volume Balance function adjusts the piano's characteristics for optimum expression when used at low volume. In addition, advanced Spatial Headphone Sound (SHS) technology enhances the depth and realism of sounds heard through headphones or earphones, while helping to reduce hearing fatigue during extended listening.
The ES120 features an all-new exterior design, with a modern control panel incorporating a luxurious polished finish along the length of the keyboard. Its elegant, solid body weighs just 12.5kg, making the ES120 an excellent choice for concert musicians, musical institutions or religious institutions.
Like its predecessor and the top models in the ES range, the ES120 can be transformed into an ultra-compact piano thanks to the stand and dedicated wooden 3-pedal pedalboard. It is also compatible with portable piano accessories such as the Kawai GFP3 3-pedal pedalboard and the Kawai F10-H sustain pedal.
