The Heritage Audio DMA73 is a true 1073 style dual mic preamp in a 1 rack unit format. It has additional key features that will cover all the recording needs of engineers and musicians who do not need to record with an EQ. Using only discrete circuitry and conventional components, the DMA73 is a faithful 3-stage 1073 Class A preamp. Polystyrene and tantalum capacitors have been used throughout. No shortcuts have been taken.
A discrete Class A high-pass filter has been added, essential for recording everything except probably the kick drum and bass. Line mode allows for re-amping of pre-recorded tracks and is perfect for adding a Class A colour to lifeless recordings. The DI circuit is a fully discrete Class A JFET circuit upstream of the MIC transformer, so all the juice is there. Since its introduction in 2012, it has become a classic DI for bass. Power handling was provided by an external linear power supply, included in the package.
