Billaudot GANDRILLE JEAN-CHARLES - LIVRE POUR VIOLONCELLE - DANSES ET MEDITATIONS OPUS 76

Descripción

Cellists will find in this cycle of twelve pieces energetic compositions and others that are meditative, as well as two Gregorian Christmas chants. The universe is modal and expresses varied emotions: intensity, jubilation, cantabile, as well as poetry and finesse with very soft sounds, sometimes dialoguing with silence. Some discreet allusions to Bach's Suites punctuate the score. Furthermore, there are many four-note chords to make the cello sound like an organ. A trained organist, Jean-Charles Gandrille has been familiar with the work of Johann Sebastian Bach for a long time. In 2020, after a few years of learning the cello, the composer began this Book for cello, the writing spanning a year and a half. This score would be for the 40th birthday of Gautier Capuçon, whom J.-C. Gandrille particularly appreciates.
