Taylor is thrilled to introduce the Jacob Collier Signature Model, designed with the visionary and innovative GRAMMY award-winning artist who is constantly pushing the boundaries of music. The signature model is available in two different configurations: a 5-string tuned in DADGAD (the low strings are tuned in fifths, while the high strings are tuned in fourths) and a more traditional 6-string with standard tuning.

The 5-string edition is inspired by a Taylor 5-string acoustic guitar that Jacob has been playing for several years. ‘I dreamed of this guitar tuning for many, many years before it existed,’ explains Jacob. ‘And then one day I asked Taylor: ‘How would you feel about putting a five-string guitar on a six-string neck tuned in a very strange way, with exactly the same scale as a normal guitar, but with a different set of intervals?’ And they said yes, which changed my whole life.’ Like Collier's Taylor guitar, the 5-string is tuned to D-A-D-A-D to give musicians the same unique sound he loves. For beginners, this makes the guitar more accessible with simpler chords. For more advanced players, it offers a whole new tonal palette to explore, promising to spark new musical discoveries. Both the 5-string and 6-string editions feature a Grand Concert body made from solid Hawaiian koa with a matte finish. The fingerboard, bridge and headstock are all made from ebony, specially chosen for its rich variety of colours. Both models feature Jacob's signature aesthetic touches, including a koa truss rod cover with a laser-etched JC logo and an interior label that also bears the logo. Other visual details on both guitars include a single black maple rosette, black top trim, 4mm mother-of-pearl fretboard inlays and a mother-of-pearl Taylor logo on the headstock. Equipped with ultra-precise Gotoh 510 antique chrome tuners with matching knobs and LR Baggs Element VTC electronics, the Jacob Collier signature model delivers natural acoustic sound when plugged in. It comes in a brown AeroCase.
