The NAUTILUS is KORG's flagship workstation.
Following on from the highly popular KRONOS, the range now includes two new AT models. Available in 61-key and 88-key versions. The NAUTILUS AT introduces Aftertouch to the range, opening up new areas of musical expression.
The NAUTILUS AT is equipped with a carefully tailored sound library.
It brings exciting Aftertouch-controlled effects to existing programmes, meaning you can take full advantage of the Aftertouch's expressive capabilities straight out of the box.
The Aftertouch
Combined with Initial Touch and the DYNAMICS button (which gives instant control over sound changes), Aftertouch opens up a wide range of musical expression with the same instrument. Combined, these functions truly unleash the full potential of the nine powerful sound engines and a vast range of other functions offered by the NAUTILUS.
The NAUTILUS AT is available in two versions:
an 88-key model with a high-quality RH3 weighted keyboard for an unrivalled piano feel
a 61-key model with a light, responsive and smooth synthesiser keyboard
Nine sound generators.
Nautilus includes nine different tone generators from the Kronos2 :
- Three sound generators dedicated to pianos and organs:
- the SGX-2 for acoustic piano sounds
- the EP-1 for electronic pianos (MDS synthesis)
- the CX-3, an admirable phonic wheel organ.
- These are complemented by three different virtual analogue synthesizers offering a vast palette of possibilities and their own sonorities:
- The HD-1 is a fully-fledged sampler and waveform synthesiser.
- The STR-1 physical modelling synth can be used to recreate traditional instrument timbres or create completely new sounds.
- The MOD-7 combines variable phase modulation (VPM), waveshaping and a powerful PCM processor.
Each of these sound engines would be worthy of an instrument in its own right, but like the Kronos2, the Nautilus brings them together in a single music workstation.
A beast of a stage!
Smooth Sound Transition (SST) technology ensures smooth transitions by allowing effects and vocals to overlap during sound changes. What's more, Nautilus offers 197 different types of effects, including chorus and delay effects, amp modelling, a vocoder and much more. Don't look any further, it's all here!
A powerful dual polyphonic arpeggiator.
One of the notable differences between the Kronos2 and the Nautilus is that the latter doesn't have the Karma function. Instead, the Nautilus features a dual polyphonic arpeggiator that opens up a whole new range of sonic possibilities.
Midi and audio sequencer.
Nautilus can record up to 16 Midi tracks and 16 audio tracks (24-bit, 48 kHz) per project. You can record external sources directly via the stereo input or import and export SMF and WAV files.
Connect to a computer and store via USB.
Connect the instrument to your computer using a USB 2.0 cable and exchange audio and Midi data with the DAW of your choice. The Nautilus editing software lets you edit sounds directly on your computer.
An exceptional musical interface.
In addition to its colour Lcd touchscreen (7" TouchView), Nautilus features physical controllers (potentiometers, switch controls, joysticks) that give you complete and direct control of your instruments. The word 'workstation' takes on its full meaning here.
