KORG's flagship workstation, the NAUTILUS, succeeds the very popular KRONOS by adopting its core philosophy: an all-in-one instrument capable of delivering both realistic acoustic sounds and the most sophisticated syntheses. The NAUTILUS AT versions add Aftertouch to the range, opening new playing possibilities for musicians who want to shape their sound in real time without taking their hands off the keyboard.
The KORG NAUTILUS AT is aimed at advanced to expert keyboardists seeking a versatile workstation for both stage and studio use. It excels in pop, rock, electro, techno, ambient, synthwave, gospel, as well as in composition and film scoring thanks to its textures, detailed pianos, and evolving pads. If you enjoy playing "live," the aftertouch, initial touch, and the DYNAMICS knob become real expressive levers to make a sound breathe, open a filter, add vibrato, or trigger effects.
The NAUTILUS AT features a carefully adapted sound library, with programs incorporating Aftertouch-controlled effects to immediately benefit from this additional expressiveness. At the heart of the machine are nine sound generators derived from the KRONOS2: engines dedicated to pianos and organs (SGX-2, EP-1, CX-3), several virtual analog syntheses (AL-1, MS-20EX, PolysixEX), a sample and wave sequencing engine (HD-1), physical modeling (STR-1), and a hybrid FM/VPM engine (MOD-7). For live use, Smooth Sound Transition (SST) ensures secure sound changes with voice and effect overlaps. On the sound design and mixing side, you have access to 197 effect types (chorus, delay, amp modeling, vocoder, etc.). Finally, replacing Karma, the NAUTILUS offers a dual polyphonic arpeggiator to animate your sounds, create patterns, and enrich your performances. In production, the MIDI and audio sequencer allows you to build a complete track, record external sources via the stereo input, and import/export SMF and WAV files, while USB 2.0 facilitates audio and MIDI exchange with your DAW and sound editing on your computer.
