The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the very first model Paul Reed Smith introduced to the public at PRS Guitars’ debut Winter NAMM show in 1985—and it has been a best-seller ever since. Played by world-renowned artists, touring musicians, and aspiring players alike, the 2025 Custom 24 is equipped with PRS’s patented Gen III tremolo system and DMO pickups, along with a volume control, tone control, and 5-way pickup selector switch.
The PRS DMO pickups (Dynamic, Musical, Open) deliver a highly open sound with a vocal-like character, offering pleasing tones across a wide frequency range—from lows to highs—in every position. These pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith and the PRS New Product Engineering team. Drawing from extensive research into the most sought-after vintage pickup models, combined with advances in signal analysis and fine-tuning technology, the DMO pickups embody years of PRS innovation and development.
