The P8 is equipped with eight identically designed microphone preamplifiers. All eight preamps are discrete, without integrated circuits, consisting of individual transistors. This principle, typical of high-end preamplifiers, largely explains the amp's exceptional sound quality. In addition to an analog gain control for adjusting the preamp, each of the eight preamps features individually switchable phantom power (48 V), a PAD switch, a phase reverse function, and a switchable analog high-pass filter. Thanks to the optional eight-channel ADAT converter, the purely analog P8 can be digitally connected to an audio interface. The P8 paves the way for high-quality multi-channel recordings.
