Compact analogue mixer for broadcasting background music and announcements in three zones
The Tascam MZ-123BT is a compact (1U) audio mixer with several inputs and outputs for zones, intended for professional installations. It provides flexible assignment, mixing and distribution of up to three channels of music and announcements for a wide range of commercial applications: points of sale, restaurants, bars, cafés, hotels, or any environment requiring independent sound assignment and announcement functions. With a simple and intuitive user interface for ease of use, the MZ-123BT Bluetooth mixer is equipped with two versatile microphone inputs and automatic background music attenuation for better intelligibility during voice announcements.
Control and assign audio to separate zones
Three separate zone outputs, with level control, allow background music to be sent to the desired areas or rooms in a restaurant, hotel, point of sale or any other commercial environment.
Three outputs on Euroblock connectors
Three pairs of balanced stereo outputs on Euroblock connectors, for fixed installation, are accessible from the rear panel. Each output can be set to mono or stereo mode.
Three stereo inputs for audio sources
Two stereo line inputs (RCA/cinch, unbalanced) allow the connection of audio/video devices, for example a CD player / Tascam USB and SD media or other similar playback source. Channel 3 has an Aux/Bluetooth input for connecting an additional audio source, via Bluetooth streaming or a 3.5 mm mini-jack. Each input has a volume control knob and three zone assignment buttons, allowing the audio signal to be sent to the desired rooms or zones.
External Bluetooth antenna, for better wireless link stability
The MZ-123BT has a dedicated Bluetooth antenna on the front panel, providing greater wireless link stability and therefore greater reliability when listening to a Bluetooth audio source via streaming - even in the most congested RF environments.
Two microphone inputs on Euroblock connectors
For announcements or moderators, the MZ-123BT offers two microphone inputs, each with switchable 48-volt phantom power for condenser microphones, Talkover functionality and zone selection via front panel buttons.
Two microphones can be connected to the Euroblock connectors on the rear panel, and an additional Combo connector (mixed XLR/TRS jack) on the front panel allows for quick connection of another microphone, with selection via a button on the front panel.
Three-band equaliser, gain control and switchable high-pass filter
The rear panel offers potentiometers for gain control and three equalisation bands (Low, Mid, High) as well as a low-pass filter activation selector for each input, allowing for optimal input level, sound quality and voice colour for each microphone.
Talkover function for clear announcements
The Talkover function automatically detects the microphone input signal during audio playback and attenuates the level of background music in selected areas, for optimal intelligibility during voice announcements. The threshold level and release time (automatic attenuation timing) can be adjusted via controls on the rear panel, for precise level reduction and a gradual return of the background music to the previously set levels.
Simple layout of controls, easy to use
The intuitive layout on the front panel of the channel volume, output level, zone selection and Bluetooth pairing controls facilitates basic use for non-technical teams and individuals. More advanced settings for the system and for operation (EQ, gain, threshold) are accessible via dedicated potentiometers on the rear panel.
Compact dimensions, 1U rack
Thanks to its reduced height (1U rack), the MZ-123BT is designed to fit without problem into an existing audio/video rack, and its optimised depth leaves more space for connections with other audio/video devices, such as Tascam CD players/USB and SD media.
