The CK-40 is Avantone's most versatile and essential FET-style mic. A pair of 35mm center-terminated pressure gradient transducers stacked tightly together, enables accurate stereo imaging without producing proximity-based phase issues. Each capsule features completely independent controllability: a low-pass filter and -10dB attenuation keep bass interference to a minimum at any sound level. The upper capsule/grill assembly can be rotated up to 90 degrees off-axis with the lower capsule. With independent multi-pattern switching, XY, M-S, and Blumlein stereo separation options are readily available and well-defined, without needing to touch the included retro-style shock mount.
