The Eko PB400 is an electric bass with the vintage lines that have marked every generation of bassists since the 1950s. It has a retro look and is built with a lightweight, resonant paulownia body, combined with a maple neck. With its passive electronics consisting of a precise-sounding single P-type pickup, and its 21-fret maple neck, the PB400 bass offers versatility and comfort that will delight any bassist starting out on his musical adventure.
Timeless lines rendered with precision
The timeless silhouette that inspired the PB400's design needs no introduction: the characteristic double cutaway for excellent access to the last fret, combined with a single pickup and a 4-bridge bridge/tailpiece block, represent a visual signature that's more than recognizable. This classic configuration has been adopted by Italian manufacturer Eko to make the PB400 an attractive electric bass, ergonomic with its contained weight and welcoming curves, and above all highly versatile for novice bassists.
Quality lutherie, lightweight and robust
Despite its very affordable price, the PB400's lutherie has received the utmost attention in order to offer bassists new to the instrument an attractive, well-finished bass. The body is made from paulownia, a light, robust and resonant wood providing comfort and beautiful vibrations. The sturdy, comfortable 4-point screwed maple neck is topped by an laurel fingerboard, bringing stability and warmth.
A versatile configuration
As for the electronics, the PB400 is equipped with a single-coil P-type pickup, highly appreciated for its versatility and precision. Great for clear sounds, it can also be very biting and percussive when combined with powerful distortion. To extend the range of sound possibilities, a general tone control allows you to adjust the timbre for greater or lesser brilliance. The bridge/tailpiece block incorporates independently adjustable saddles to fine-tune the action and harmonics of each string and ensure effective sustain.
Affordable, lightweight, versatile and aesthetically pleasing with its timeless retro silhouette, the PB400 is the ideal instrument to start playing electric bass with pleasure, without breaking the bank.
