Duophonic Hybrid-Analogue Synthesiser Created in collaboration with the late Chris Huggett, the PWM MANTIS is a hybrid analogue synthesiser inspired by the Wasp and the OSCar, but with a modern design and capabilities. It's a fine blend of the sounds and techniques Huggett developed for EDP and Novation. A heritage that PWM is keen to honour today. The MANTIS is a duophonic synthesizer offering two independent voices with a sub-oscillator for a wide variety of sound mixes. The MANTIS oscillators are mathematically generated, running on their own DSP chip for uncompromised performance, then processed via an all-analogue signal path including a uniquely designed and capable VCF section. Based on SSI2164 VCA chips, the multi-mode filters can be controlled simultaneously in series or in parallel, with width control similar to that found on the OSCar. Complemented by a digital effects section, the Mantis stands out from other synths with unmistakable sounds. And like its little brother Malevolent, it has extensive MIDI control capabilities, with Control Change on all parameters. The Mantis is a modern synthesiser, combining the best of Chris Huggett's experience with resolutely modern features.
