Following the massive success of the original Orba design, Artiphon has sought to enhance its functionality with a series of improvements, upgrades and new features. With the original Orba you were limited to the built-in sounds, but with the Orba 2 you can now record and import your own samples. The Orba 2 now lets you record and import your own samples, opening up a whole new world of musical possibilities. You can now quantize your notes once you've recorded them, which is handy for creating solid percussive loops and regimented sounds.
You can even record your own samples from a smartphone or similar recording device using the dedicated Orba app. You can then transform these samples using the onboard controls to create a unique sound. For example, you can record yourself tapping on your desk to use as an underlying beat or capture the sound of a bird chirping and use it as a melody. The possibilities are limitless !
Powerful synthesis engine and looper
The internal synth engine is designed to respond to your movements, providing four main sounds for creating loops and songs. The synth is made up of drum, bass, chord and track sounds that span all genres.
Thanks to the built-in looper, it's easier than ever to create loops, cultivate ideas and turn them into songs. From capturing inspiration to crafting song sessions, the Orba 2 can do it all. All it takes is a few taps to put a beat on loop and you can play continuously for hours. It even has a built-in haptic feedback motor that allows it to vibrate to provide physical feedback.
Many ways to interact with sound
Touch, swipe, tap, wave and more. The Orba 2 offers many possibilities for interaction with the integrated synthesizer. Built-in motion and touch sensors capture the most subtle movements so you can express yourself without limits. You can create vibratos using different gestures, shaking the Orba or even waving it in the air, resulting in different tones and dynamics. Its intuitive design makes it a perfect instrument for beginners and professionals alike.
Thanks to USB connectivity, you can also use the Orba as an external MIDI controller. So you can control your favorite music software and virtual instruments using this portable instrument.
