Anasounds Utopia Deluxe Delay
The original Utopia is the pedal that made Anasounds what we are today, the spark that set the ball rolling and has never stopped being one of the most requested models in the catalogue since 2015. In the meantime, you've often asked us for a more complete version of the Utopia, especially with the tap tempo, which was by far the most requested extra option. But we didn't want to simply add a tap tempo footswitch to the original Utopia, so we completely redesigned the circuit for a new voicing that's even more musical, more pleasant to play and takes full advantage of the enormous possibilities of the famous PT2399 chip.
Years of refinement
Here, at last, is the Anasounds Utopia Deluxe, and we think it was well worth the wait. There's tap tempo, of course, with its own footswitch that can also trigger infinite repeats when held down, and of course you can choose your subdivision with the dotted eighth note (yes, we like The Edge and David Gilmour too). But we haven't stopped there, as you'll also find a Tone setting for darker or darker repeats, and a built-in preamp that picks up the EP's beautiful sound and shimmering harmonics. You have access not only to its volume, but also to a switch that lets you activate it or even put it in 'always on' mode, even when the delay is not engaged.
Finally, the central 'Bliss' pot handles modulation. It is divided into three regions corresponding to three different effects (tape echo, chorus, vibrato), and the effect zone automatically adjusts depth and speed to produce only usable sounds, from the most discreet to the most pronounced.
The benchmark has gone from strength to strength, and we'll now have to reckon with the new boss of the simple but all-option delay, the Anasounds Utopia Deluxe.
