* The shape of the Grooved Hoop is inspired by the so-called "stick saver hoops" that were commonly used on some early snare drums in the 30s and 40s. In the case of the usual stick saver hoops, the upper part of the hoop is bent towards the curvature. Not only does the curvature enhance the snare's natural sound and project the sound upwards towards the player, it also offers greater sensitivity, precision and control.

To achieve a sharper, more sensitive sound, TAMA has redesigned its snare wires using new materials, adapting the shape of the plate and modifying the winding pattern of the wires. As a result, the Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Stamp adapts more closely to the skin of the body, offering greater sensitivity and a brighter, cleaner sound.
