The sound is great for the price. Whether you play on a small amp (like those included with the Ibanez pack) or on bigger beasts, it sounds very good. The sound is clean whether you play with fingers, pick, or slap (by the way, I really appreciate the height between the strings and the pickguard for that!) The electronics are good, and the sound settings are multiple, you can really get all the tones you want, I easily switch from a sharp metal sound to a heavy and round jazz sound. The nut is a bit sharp, consider filing it gently on the corner, otherwise, at the first slide, you'll leave a piece of your hand :D I don't use it for live playing, but it's a good backup instrument, I've used it in concerts, and it works quite well, being careful about annoying noises when sliding on the neck (often adjust the string height). Very beautiful bass, perfect for starting and perfecting your technique ;)... (Show more)

Excellent bass for beginners. You get your money's worth, the sound is round, funky, and smooth as I like when I plug it into my PC with Amplitube VST. The only problem was a string that buzzed upon receipt. I had to use the wrench to readjust everything (but I'll probably see a luthier to make it perfect). Anyway, I'm self-taught and needed a bass to be able to make bass lines that are not just synthetic in my compositions, and I realize it's a real pleasure to compose bass lines by letting your hand run along the neck. The neck itself is really great and you quickly gain dexterity. I think if one day I have to switch to a Fender or Musicman, I would keep this as a second bass (but that day is far away). Otherwise, I plan to change the volume and tone knobs which are clearly cheap plastic but that has no impact on the sound quality of this bass.... (Show more)

Bought to start, I am 100% delighted, only downside, to be adjusted by a luthier (I'm terrible at neck adjustment), because too tight and one string was buzzing. Very pleasant thin neck Nice finish (the shiny black look with shiny strings really pops)

Beginner at bass, I can't really compare. But being satisfied with my Ibanez guitar, I wanted to stick with this brand. Affordable price, good finish, even more beautiful in real life. In terms of playing comfort, I have no complaints. Nice sound.

Very good bass, suitable for both beginners and experienced players, very pleasant for slap. The only thing to change, for me, are the strings. With flatwound Daddario strings, it is just perfect.

Being a beginner, I am not in a position to say if it's a good bass, but I recommend changing the strings, as having done so I immediately noticed the difference.

It's a good bass for everyone (beginner type), that is to say if you have played a bit of guitar before wanting a bass. I highly recommend it. As for the strings, they last quite a long time, even if these strings are so-so...
