With its 2024 update, the Warwick RockBass range positions itself as a serious entry point into the brand's universe: instruments inspired by Warwick's "high-end models," designed to offer a playing level and musical attributes faithful to the brand's reputation, while remaining more affordable. The result: a Warwick-look bass, built to last and support real progress.
This RockBass is aimed both at the demanding beginner bassist and the intermediate player seeking a reliable, precise, and effective bass for rehearsals and stage. The active P/J combination covers a wide range: rock, pop, funk, punk, reggae, gospel, modern metal... With its 24 frets and through neck, it also suits melodic lines and playing high up the neck.
The alder body provides a very musical balance: full lows, present mids (ideal for sitting well in the mix), and clean highs. The through neck (maple/ekanga) enhances stability and promotes natural sustain, with a seamless feel between the lower and upper neck. The wenge fingerboard adds attack definition and noticeable articulation, especially on pick or slap notes.
On the electronics side, the pair of active MEC pickups (a P for punch and foundation, a J for precision and grain) allows switching from a massive, round tone to a sharper, more articulated register. The active EQ (Bass/Treble) helps instantly adapt the bass to your amp, venue, or playing style, while the balance control enables fine blending between the two pickups.
To maintain the original feel and balance, choose a 4-string long scale string set in .045-.105 gauge (same gauge as factory-installed).
