Ordering online without trying it. I live far from Europe, and the music stores didn't have this bass. I was looking for a bass for slap. I have a fretless, so it's hard to slap on it, even if it's possible! Anyway, I read various articles on the net and went for the TRBX 504. Result, not bad at all, but... The finish seems good to me, but there's something off, I don't know, something's missing. Overall, I'm visually happy, even if... On the sound side, super versatile. For slap, you can't say it's soft, definitely not. For finger playing, coming from a fretless, there's no comparison, it lacks sensuality, but that's the case with all fretted basses. I must admit the frets bother me and hurt my fingers. The smooth one is really something else. Anyway, great for slap, disappointed for the rest. Now, it's Yamaha, and it remains very very decent. Only the finish seems top to me, but not super super top, too bad.... (Show more)
