With its 6 strings and active preamp, this RockBass targets intermediate to advanced bassists looking to expand their range (deep lows and singing highs) without losing control. It excels in metal and modern rock (sharp attacks, solid lows), but also performs well in funk and fusion thanks to its simple and effective EQ and the blend control allowing a shift from precise to more enveloping tones.
The alder body provides a natural balance between lows, mids, and highs, with a consistent response ideal for a versatile bass. The 3-piece maple and ekanga neck promotes attack and stability, while the wenge fingerboard adds a drier, more articulate feel, useful for maintaining clarity on a 6-string. The MEC active Soapbar pickups deliver a modern, compact, and defined sound, with firm lows and clean highs. The RockBass active electronics (Treble / Bass) allow brightening a slap, scooping for a contemporary tone, or thickening the lows for heavier tunings. The combination of the Warwick 2-piece bridge and Just a Nut III nut contributes to good note sustain and stable intonation.
This bass comes with a Student Line RockBag RB 20515 B/PLUS gig bag. To maintain the original feel and balance, a set of Warwick Red Strings in gauges .025-.135 is a coherent replacement.
