Essential Information About the Schecter Demon-7 Guitar

  • Designed for Modern Metal: dark look (satin finishes, black hardware) and "Gothic Crosses" inlays for an immediately aggressive visual identity.

  • 7-String Comfort: long 26.5" / 673 mm scale length and bolt-on maple neck with a slim profile to maintain stability in low tunings.

  • Ergonomics Focused on Fast Playing: 24 X-Jumbo frets and 16" / 406 mm radius, ideal for tight riffs and solos.

The Demon Series: A "Metal-Ready" Reference in the Schecter Range

With the Demon series, Schecter offers guitars designed for distorted music where visual impact is as important as playability. Satin finishes, dark hardware, and gothic inlays immediately place the Demon-7 in a Metal universe. The concept is simple: an accessible 7-string with a killer look, capable of handling high gain levels while remaining stable and comfortable.

Who Is It For, and Which Styles?

The Schecter Demon-7 is aimed at intermediate to advanced guitarists who want to move to 7 strings (or expand their arsenal) for metalcore, death metal, djent, modern heavy, and all low-tuned rhythm playing. Its long scale and active electronics make it particularly well-suited for precise riffs, pick playing, and direct recording, without losing attack.

Sound

The mahogany body provides a solid foundation in the low-midrange, ideal for thick rhythms, while the flamed maple top adds a touch of definition and presence in the attack. The pair of active humbuckers Duncan Designed HB-105/7 delivers a powerful and tight signal, with natural compression that highlights palm mutes and facilitates leads. The 3-way selector switch allows quick changes from a sharp bridge pickup sound to a rounder neck pickup tone, with volume and tone controls to adjust aggressiveness without getting lost in settings.

Recommended Compatible Accessories

Plan for a 9V battery (dedicated compartment) to power the active electronics. For strings, a set of 7-string strings in gauge .010-.056 matches the original setup (Ernie Ball Regular Slinky 7 2621). For transport, the SGR-1C gig bag is available as an option (sold separately).

Ordered yesterday, received this morning, it's a pleasure..!!! :) Instrument of respectable lutherie, with careful finishes, I tested it quickly, I find the pickups good, but I think I'll change them later to gain precision on heavy saturations. Overall, it's a very good guitar for its price, and a good first approach to a 7-string. I recommend it for tight budgets eager to discover new horizons. A setup at the luthier is necessary for me to lower the action, apart from that, I'm already very happy!!! The neck is not that big, which scared me a bit, one more string, of course, but its back shape is comfortable. Access to the high notes is a bit limited but you get used to it quickly. A bit heavy but same, you forget it quite quickly and it doesn't affect the playing sensations. I'm convinced!... (Show more)

Received in good condition, with a suitable weight and easy to use despite the wider neck compared to a 6-string. I recommend!
