Behringer's Solina String Ensemble pays tribute to the legendary ARP/Eminent Solina MK II. The goal: to recapture the warmth of the original circuits and the silky string chorus that shaped countless records, while modernizing ergonomics and connectivity. This compact reinterpretation continues the manufacturer's line of accessible analog recreations.
Ideal for keyboardists and producers of all levels, the Solina excels at delivering wide, immediately musical pads. It shines in synthwave, disco, ambient, pop, soundtracks, and vintage electronic music. Both in the studio and on stage, it instantly provides inspiring orchestral textures and authentic retro character.
Its analog "divide-down" engine is based on a 13-sound generator to offer 49-voice polyphony and multi-orchestral timbres. The instrument section includes violin, viola, trumpet, horn, cello, and double bass, controlled by tuning, crescendo, bass, and volume knobs, faithful to the original spirit. The famous multi-stage BBD Ensemble Chorus thickens the sound, while a Small Stone-type phaser, equipped with a dedicated speed control and a color switch, adds movement.
The 16 front panel controls ensure a direct creative workflow, and the effects inputs/outputs allow independent use of the chorus and phaser. For modern integration, the instrument offers a full MIDI implementation with channel selection and voice priority. Finally, its main module can be transferred into a standard Eurorack case for hybrid modular setups.
