The Sequential Pro 3 embraces a "solid old-school analog" DNA while adding a much more versatile digital layer. This hybrid approach allows you to retain the impact and presence of the VCOs while exploring grittier timbres thanks to wavetables and morphing. The result: a synthesizer tailored for modern sounds without sacrificing the character of analog circuits.
The Pro 3 is aimed at experienced musicians and sound designers who want an instrument that is both immediate and deep. It excels in techno, electro, industrial, synthwave, ambient, or modern pop, with a real capacity to generate dense basses, cutting leads, and lively sequences. In the studio, its modulation matrix and filters offer a massive playground for experimentation; live, the sequencer and arpeggiator make it a formidable performance machine.
At the heart of the Pro 3: 2 voltage-controlled oscillators for analog grit, complemented by a wavetable oscillator offering 32 tables of 16 waves with morphing to continuously evolve the timbre. To sculpt the sound, you have three analog filters: a 4-pole low-pass inspired by the Prophet-6, a transistor Ladder filter with resonance compensation option to preserve low-end solidity, and a 2-pole variable state filter inspired by the OB-6, modulatable between low-pass, notch, and high-pass, with an optional band-pass mode. Add feedback and analog distortion (grunge on demand), plus a Drive control to push the instrument towards raw and saturated textures. On the modulation side, the 32-slot matrix opens access to 171 destinations. Finally, the sequencer (16 tracks, 16 steps, 4 phrases) handles real-time or step input, ratchet, variable sequence and gate lengths, multiple playback modes, and paraphonic operation, with synchronization possible via MIDI clock, external audio input, and CV.
