Designed in the spirit of the Prophet-5 and Prophet-10, this module carries the sonic DNA that marked the history of analog polysynths: rich VCOs, musical low-pass filter, and immediate interface. It is aimed at those who want the "vintage" grain and organic response of a true analog path while benefiting from a format designed for compact studios and mobile live setups.
The Prophet-5/Prophet-10 Module is perfectly suited for advanced and expert musicians who prioritize direct editing and timbral quality. It shines on expansive pads, analog brass, deep basses, expressive leads, and evolving textures, whether in synthwave, pop, techno, ambient, or film scoring. In the studio, it serves as a "signature" voice in the mix; live, its clear panel and direct program access enable fast and reliable changes.
The synthesis is analog subtractive, centered around two multi-waveform VCOs per voice (simultaneously selectable waveforms per oscillator), a 4-pole resonant low-pass filter, and an analog amplification path, with dedicated ADSR envelopes for filter and amplifier. Modulation relies on a multi-waveform LFO and the famous Poly Mod, allowing musical and aggressive routings (filter envelope and oscillator B to multiple destinations, including filter cutoff, oscillator A frequency, and pulse width).
The Rev selector allows switching between two filter signatures: one inspired by the earliest revisions (SSI 2140, a modern descendant of the SSM), and the other in the spirit of Rev3 (Curtis). The Vintage knob finely adjusts the behavior of oscillators, filters, and envelopes to recapture the "alive" feel of an old instrument. Finally, the instrument includes a full set of factory programs and user memory, with connectivity designed for current setups: MIDI, USB, and CV/Gate, as well as pedal inputs for expressive control (velocity and aftertouch via external controller).
