The Prophet Rev2 continues the legacy of the Prophet polysynths, which have become essential in production and on stage. It builds on a solid and immediately musical sound foundation, notably through Curtis filters known for their distinctive character, and expands with a more contemporary approach to modulation and performance. The result: a polyphonic synthesizer crafted for "modernized vintage" sounds, equally comfortable with wide pads, punchy basses, and cutting leads.
This synthesizer is aimed at advanced and expert musicians seeking a true sound design instrument, yet remains accessible thanks to a direct interface rich in controls. It excels in electro, techno, synthwave, pop, ambient, and film scoring, with expressive patches (velocity and aftertouch) and an architecture ideal for sound design. In the studio, its two layers and deep modulation allow stacking, animating, and breathing life into timbres; live, the split function, arpeggiator, and multiple outputs simplify setups.
The Prophet Rev2 is a subtractive synthesis synthesizer based on two digitally controlled oscillators (DCO) per voice, complemented by a white noise generator, then shaped by a resonant 2/4-pole Curtis low-pass filter and a VCA to preserve attack and impact. Its 16-voice polyphony offers true arrangement freedom: wide chords, complex pads, or stacking two sounds via two layers per program (up to 8 voices per layer). On the modulation side, it features 4 LFOs and 3 envelopes (VCF, VCA, and assignable) for precise movements, while waveform modulation (Shape Mod) adds a particularly effective timbral dimension on the four available shapes (sawtooth, saw + triangle, triangle, square). For rhythmic and melodic creation, the Rev2 includes a polyphonic sequencer up to 64 steps (6 notes per step), a 16x4-step gate sequencer, and an arpeggiator. Finally, the memory offers 512 factory programs and 512 user programs, all fully editable, with two layers in each program, and connectivity designed for both studio and stage (USB, MIDI, multiple outputs, pedal input, and pedal/CV input).
