Roland GO:PIANO

Description

Discover the GO:PIANO 61, ideal for both beginner and advanced musicians. Compact, lightweight, and equipped with numerous advanced features, it adapts to all playing styles and musical needs.

Keyboard

  • Number of keys: 61 keys
  • Key type: Ivory Feel and Box-shape with velocity sensitivity. The keys have a texture mimicking ivory for a more authentic acoustic piano feel. Velocity means the sound intensity varies depending on how hard you press the keys.
  • Touch sensitivity: 3 levels + fixed mode. You can adjust the keyboard's responsiveness to your playing style: more or less sensitive to finger pressure.

Sound Generator

  • Maximum polyphony: 128 voices. This means up to 128 notes can sound simultaneously, even when using the sustain pedal or effects.
  • MIDI compatibility: GM2 format. Allows the keyboard to be used with computer music software (DAW) and other MIDI instruments.

  • Pianos: 10 sounds (from classic pianos to electric pianos)
  • Electric Pianos: 7 sounds (vintage sounds typical of the 70s/80s)
  • Organs: 7 sounds (from jazz organ to church organ)
  • Other sounds: 16 sounds (including drums and sound effects)

Built-in Effects

  • Multi-effects, Chorus, and Reverb: These effects add depth and richness to the sound. Reverb simulates the acoustics of a concert hall.
  • Pedal resonance (always activated for piano sounds) to simulate the effect of string resonance when the sustain pedal is pressed.

Advanced Functions

  • Customizable tuning: From 415.3 Hz to 466.2 Hz to match the tuning of the keyboard with other instruments.
  • Transpose: -5 to +6 semitones to change the pitch of the notes without altering the hand position on the keyboard.
  • Octave shift: -3 to +3 octaves. Useful for playing lower or higher sounds without changing keyboards.
  • Built-in metronome: For practicing with a precise tempo (from 5 to 300 beats per minute) and various time signatures.
  • Recorder: Allows you to record up to 99 songs with a total storage of around 30,000 notes. Recording format: Standard MIDI File (Format 0).

Connectivity

  • Bluetooth 4.2: Wireless connection to stream music or send MIDI data to a computer/tablet.
  • Headphone/line output: Plug in headphones or connect the instrument to an amplifier.
  • AUX input: Allows you to connect an external audio player.
  • USB port (Micro-B): To connect the keyboard to a computer and use it with music production software.
  • Pedal port: Allows you to add a sustain pedal or other controllers.

Due to lack of space, I switched from an upright piano to a digital keyboard. I was looking for a compact keyboard with essential functions, knowing that I am not looking to do arrangements, but just to play in piano mode. I also had an old, somewhat disappointing memory of a synth from the 1990s. For my part, the pianos offered suit me, even if you don't find the natural resonance of a piano, I still have good sensations. I am delighted, knowing that I have no other references in the matter, and that I only play around, the price and quality are therefore very correct for me. The connection to my phone posed no problem and I am discovering the advantages of digital. Compared to previous comments, I clarify and specify that the GO PIANO absolutely does not have the touch and sound close to a piano nor even an 88-note weighted digital piano, but it is really very practical as a travel piano, most of my students have one for their business trips and vacations or weekends, with its easy-to-carry cover, light in the train or plane (some airlines) in the cabin, for choir singers, for musicians in rehearsal or tour at the hotel or transport, to play in bed or on the couch or in summer on the terrace or in the garden etc. So in my opinion, it is a very practical backup keyboard with all its functions, its weight and reduced size.

In short: Perfect if you are looking for a real piano but don't have the space or budget *** Great, very good quality for the price I found all the qualities I expected: - Touch very close to a traditional piano (slightly less resistance) - Good sound output with the speakers, very good with headphones - Metronome on point - Options to go up/down an octave, record a track, different effects of piano/drums/others (something to have fun with) I've been hammering it for a month, no sign of weakness. Perfect if you are starting piano and easy to use

I bought a piano for my teens who are musicians but on other instruments (trumpet and guitar), they are super happy! And us too because it doesn't take up space but it sounds like a real piano, the keys have the required sensitivity. I never would have thought that one could own a piano at home, for me it was an inaccessible instrument due to its bulk, but this GO:PIANO is a marvel!

I hesitated with the Yamaha NP but I do not regret my choice, the heavy touch is adjustable, Bluetooth is a plus for online lessons. I mainly use it with headphones where the sound is very good, without headphones less good, lacks power. It is a bit more expensive but the quality is good
