Real-Time Processing, Controlled Latency
The 6 DSPs and 2 FPGAs run Antelope plug-ins without burdening the computer's processor. You can reduce buffer size, stabilize large sessions, and monitor with effects either printed or in real time.
Conversion, Preamps, and Reference Clock
The 12 "Discrete MP" preamps offer up to 75 dB of transparent gain. Line inputs bypass the preamps to achieve 124 dB dynamic range into the A/D converters. The 64-bit AFC clock, with Word Clock I/O, ensures precise stereo imaging and excellent temporal coherence.
Comprehensive Connectivity and Powerful Routing
Thunderbolt 3 and USB 2.0 provide broad Mac/PC compatibility, with the ability to power/recharge a MacBook. Monitoring outputs deliver 130 dB dynamic range and switch between parallel or A/B modes, complemented by 2 independent headphone outputs, 2 reamp outputs, 16 DB25 line outputs, 2 ADAT ports, S/PDIF, and DC-coupled I/O for controlling modular systems. The digital patchbay and zero-latency mixer are managed via the software control panel.

The dream! This is the interface I was looking for! Impeccable audio quality, I rediscover sounds thanks to the 129db dynamic range on the monitor outputs. All the I/O connections needed to evolve a studio based on hybrid mixing in 1U, the choice of inputs such as Mic/Line/direct and Hi-Z (Hi-Z on front input only) make this professional device very very flexible because it acts as a simple converter or preamp depending on our needs. Also, the AFX are stunning, I have never had the chance to work with UAD but these AFX are simply amazing, also because the effects are already on our card and you just have to buy them gradually to unlock them, and do updates when new ones come out so that they are integrated into our machines, which really makes it a full-fledged hardware piece. I won't talk about the control panel in detail but very easy to use, just be careful where you go so as not to loop ;) It's a powerful tool and you can feel it! It breathes solidity and reliability, I recommend it 1000 times. PS: just a shame that my package arrived in its presentation box, with only a black film around it.. I don't know if Woodbrass sent me the package as is, or if Chronopost removed the box?.. despite its dubious packaging and the recommendation not to open if the box is damaged, there was no mark on the box, except 2 barely dented corners, which correspond with the weight of the beast once the box is placed.. I was afraid it was damaged inside, but upon opening it was perfect and everything works perfectly! Enough to ease the discomfort.. for the price of the machine it still cooled me down.. What a sound! I was hesitating to get a UAD Apollo 8+ but I went for this beautiful machine for several reasons: 12 preamps of quality equivalent to UAD, a complex routing software at first glance, but formidable once mastered, integrated DSPs (the AFX are wonderful), 2 integrated reamp outputs, multiple monitoring outputs, all possible connections to link other interfaces, all in a 1U rack format. In short, it's amazing!

Coming from an honorable Audient ID44, I could only appreciate the upgrade to the Orion Studio Synergy Core. Great preamps, the D/A conversion is transparent with a beautiful stereo image, the transients are very natural, the headphone outputs much better than on the Audient. Installation and product registration went smoothly on a Windows 10 PC via USB.

Moreover, the built-in effects are of excellent quality, providing significant comfort for recording.
The only thing missing is support for AFX2DAW on Windows for it to reach perfection in my eyes.
