  • USB 2 inputs / 2 outputs at 48 kHz (16-bit) for easy stereo recording of vocals, guitar, keyboard, or podcasts.
  • Direct monitoring with zero latency and 6.3 mm headphone output for immediate listening comfort during recording.
  • Metal casing and USB-powered for a robust, portable, and ready-to-use home studio solution.

The Efficient Entry Point of the U-Phoria Range

Compact and intuitive, the UMC22 focuses on the essentials to capture reliable sound without complexity. It serves as an entry-level model in the U-Phoria series, emphasizing signal consistency around a renowned Midas preamp and 48 kHz conversion, ideal for starting clean and consistent productions without unnecessary accessories.

Who Is It For and In What Scenarios?

The UMC22 is designed for solo creators, singer-songwriters, podcasters, and streamers who want a simple and stable interface. Plug a microphone into the combo input for vocals and a guitar into the high-impedance instrument input: you get a straightforward workflow for demos, voice-overs, online courses, live streams, and rehearsals, with controlled latency and comfortable headphone monitoring to stay focused on the performance.

Features Designed for Daily Recording

Preamplification and Conversion

The Midas mic preamp delivers clean and quiet gain, perfect for dynamic and condenser microphones thanks to +48 V phantom power. The 16-bit / 48 kHz conversion produces lightweight files that are easy to share while preserving a stable stereo image and low background noise for podcast, YouTube, or music demo projects.

Connectivity and Control

The combo XLR / 6.3 mm jack input accepts microphones or line sources, while the dedicated instrument input accommodates guitar or bass without a DI box. The "Signal" and "Clip" indicators help adjust gain to avoid distortion. The 6.3 mm stereo headphone jack and 6.3 mm jack outputs for monitor speakers ensure faithful listening during recording and quick mixing.

A Frictionless Workflow

Enable direct monitoring to hear yourself in real time without going through the computer: ideal for more natural and reassuring takes. Powered via USB and housed in a sturdy metal chassis, the UMC22 sets up in seconds at home, rehearsals, or on the go, and integrates easily into a minimalist yet effective setup.

I hesitated for a long time with higher-end models like a Foscurite. Not wanting to exceed a small budget for my first homestudio, I finally followed my instinct for this card: amazing! Good latency, doesn't crash, on Ableton it performs perfectly! I have a CM60 mic that it works very well with! For demos, it's more than enough! Also: aesthetically it's very nice, and its finishes are not cheap at all! As for the Behringer brand: forget the reviews on the internet and forget its very old reputation! The progress is real and it's worth investing to start (or not!)

From a completely (like really completely) novice point of view: I wanted to record the noise I make with bass/guitar. Sound going in, sound coming out on my PC. Plug&Play on Linux with Audacity, nothing to do. The sound is fine for me, no background noise (other than me). I have no experience with other equipment or length of use, but for me it fully meets my expectations, affordable price, fast delivery as usual.
