Description

Essential Information About the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Generation Audio Interface

  • 3rd Generation Microphone Preamplifier with switchable "Air" mode for clearer and more open vocals.
  • High-Performance Converters up to 24-bit/192 kHz for detailed recordings and precise monitoring.
  • High-Impedance Instrument Input with wide headroom for guitar/bass without clipping, plus Halo level indicators.
  • Bus-Powered USB Type-C and silent balanced TRS outputs for a simple and reliable home studio setup.

The Entry Point of the Scarlett Range, True to Focusrite's DNA

The most accessible model in the series, the Scarlett Solo 3rd generation incorporates the acclaimed elements of the range while modernizing the experience: even more transparent converters, a redesigned preamp with "Air" mode inspired by the legendary ISA, and current USB-C connectivity. A reliable choice to start on solid ground.

For Singer-Songwriters, Podcasters, and Solo Creators

Whether you're recording vocals + guitar, a solo podcast, or demos from a laptop, the Solo offers the essentials without compromise. Its compact desktop format, USB power, and balanced outputs facilitate a clean and mobile setup, on both Mac and PC.

Key Features and Innovations of the 3rd Generation

Focusrite Preamp with "Air"

Activate "Air" to add brightness and presence, similar to ISA preamps. The 48 V phantom power supports your condenser microphones, and the Halo level indicators help you set gain at a glance.

Inputs Optimized for Guitar and Vocals

The high-impedance instrument input with wide headroom accepts guitars and basses without unwanted distortion, while the separate line input covers your other sources.

Clean Monitoring and Modern Connectivity

The balanced TRS outputs ensure a clean signal to your studio monitors. The USB-C port simplifies connection and powers the interface: no adapter required.

A Software Ecosystem Ready to Create

Delivered with Ableton Live Lite, the Focusrite Red 2 & Red 3 suite, and the Hitmaker Expansion, the Solo includes instruments, effects, and trial subscriptions to produce, mix, and finalize your tracks quickly.

Perfect for my needs. I bought it to record my guitar tracks before adding the vocal track. Tested with an Alhambra electro-classical and a Yamaha Transacoustic electro-acoustic, the sound reproduction is perfect. I even added my Zoom Ac-2 upstream for a softer and more natural sound, it works very well. I also connected my daughter's digital piano, with sound output to the mixing console (the only sound output of the Yamaha P45 piano being a headphone output). Perfect recording as well. I haven't tested it with the microphone yet, but I'm not worried. I also haven't tested the provided software solution, Audacity (open-source) does the job perfectly (normalization, noise reduction, and audio editing).... (Show more)

This sound card does what I expect from it, and even on my old clunker, I manage to get perfectly acceptable latencies! Having worked with FireWire for a long time, I feared that USB 2 to USB-C would be a step backward in terms of performance. It is not: I have the same as before with less energy and fewer peripherals. I am delighted!

You can clearly feel the difference with DAWs. Very easy to connect. Be sure to carefully follow the steps to install the Focusrite Control software and set all the necessary parameters to truly enjoy its potential! Note that it is essential to have a Jack adapter if you want to connect headphones with a mini-jack ...

Excellent product at a reasonable price for its quality compared to others. You can listen and record in very high quality. For this price, you can't hope for better. It can be used as a DAC and as a mini recording studio. I highly recommend it again

If we speak English, the tutorials are super simple. I haven't fully explored the product yet but it seems great for my use: voice harmonies over an accompaniment either guitar alone or even a soundtrack
