YBS-82 Custom Baritone Saxophone
The result of many years of research and development, the YBS-82 is the first Custom Baritone Saxophone in the Yamaha range. It is a versatile instrument designed to suit many musical genres. The 82 is available with or without a high FA#. Along with this instrument, we offer a new range of optional jars, models C1, E1 and V1, available in 6 finishes. They will offer the musician a wide range of sound configuration possibilities. The YBS-82 is more than just a low register instrument, it has the versatility to take on solo roles.
Optimised keywork The YBS-82's key layout provides improved ergonomics so that players can play faster and more comfortably. The position of the hands and fingers is more natural.
Bocal The YBS-82 is supplied with a Custom C1 neck, offering fast response, accurate phrasing and a well-defined, versatile sound. A number of optional jars are available: 3 bore diameters in 6 configurations for a total of 18 variations, allowing players to choose the ideal jar for their playing and tonal preferences.
Optimized intonation The YBS-82 features a bell shaped from a sheet of brass. The shorter design allows for a more centered tone in the lower register, and a more consistent and rich sound in all registers.
Detachable pickguard The YBS-82 comes with a pickguard. The spike is designed to be both lightweight and sturdy, providing perfect balance and ease of handling. Spike part number: BSAXPEGBS
Top of the range mouthpiece This sleek mouthpiece, made of a special material, offers excellent control, a clear sound and great freedom of expression.
Case The hard case is equipped with wheels to move the YBS-82 easily and safely.
Option The YBS-82 is available by special order without the high FA# key. The removal of this key allows for a more lively response. Order number without high FA# key: YBS-82WOF
