In a symphony orchestra, the B40 was already perfect for this use.
The BD5 takes the sound base of the B40 in a more linear way and allows better homogeneity over the entire range. My Selmer Privilège bass in C, immediately adapted well to this mouthpiece which is to be kept. No doubt, the wider facet than the B40 as well as the wider rails are part of the depth of the sound.
With Marca "Paolo de Gaspari" reeds no. 3, the BD5 mouthpiece, and the Selmer Privilège in C, you can do good work and above all... enjoy yourself. Alain J.
