The Magni 502 takes its name from Magni, son of Thor, god of thunder in Norse mythology. The word also means "strong" or "mighty" in Swedish, and listening to this exceptional professional combo, you'll immediately understand why EBS wanted to name this amp series so! Based on the famous Reidmar 502 amp head, from which it borrows its interface and connectivity, this Magni 502 combo is designed in a 1 speaker 15" baffle with neodymium magnets, considerably reducing weight (- 6kg compared to the previous Magni 500), while retaining performance and sound dynamics with its tweeter!
By using Reidmar technology to design Magni 502s, EBS has given them the benefit of the best on-board features available on their amplifiers. For example, the Magni 502 employs Soft Clipt technology that completely preserves low frequencies, even at high volumes. The high-quality analog preamp equips Magni 502s with the famous EBS compressor and Character filter, which pre-models your sound by boosting bass and treble while slightly deepening the midrange. The 4-band equalization with semi-parametric midrange allows you to precisely sculpt your sound and exploit every conceivable sonic rendering.
The Magni 502 benefits from professional craftsmanship, right down to the very structure of the chassis, thanks to its dual-port design that redirects sound from the bottom of the cabinet to the front, resulting in far greater front-firing power. To further enhance this power, the Magni 502 features a Speakon output for the addition of an external 4-ohm baffle, or two 8-ohm baffles. This professional combo also provides all the connections you need to work efficiently at home or on stage: a headphone output, a line output, an effect loop and an XLR DI output for direct connection to a mixer (with pre/post EQ, plus an activatable Ground Lift to eliminate electrical hum).
