The most popular Roundwound bass string ever. Rotosound was the first string company to produce this kind of string. Introduced in 1962 it changed the sound of the instrument instantly. The favourite string of many players including Billy Sheehan, John Paul Jones and Geddy Lee. Available in all popular gauges and scale lengths. The stainless steel used to produce these strings is unique and nickel free, coupled with a highly secretive manufacturing process.

After testing several strings (Ernie Ball, GHS among others) that did not disappoint, I tried Rotosound out of curiosity: good call!! A real pleasant surprise, they are very versatile, not too bright, a wide range of styles can be covered by these strings (rock, reggae, soul, jazz, funk). Same for the different techniques (finger, slap, pick), true chameleons! I've been using (abusing!) them on my Precision for a month and they hold tuning very well, we'll see about longevity.. The only downside, they are a bit rough at first contact, but you get used to it. I think I've finally found my strings..
