Mouthpiece - Vandoren - B40

An essential element in clarinet playing, the mouthpiece must be carefully chosen to match the musician's preferences as closely as possible. This series is available with two different chinrest angles: traditional chinrest and Profile 88. The only difference is the angle of the chinrest, so the musician is free to choose the model that will give him the most ease of playing, an easier and more precise release and a better comfort linked to a better position of the instrument.

The French firm is no longer in the limelight, because all musicians know it. The impeccable reeds from the French factory have made the brand internationally known, and each new mouthpiece that comes out of the R&D workshops is applauded by all the musicians in the world.

Comfort and playing situation options.
The majority of Vandoren mouthpieces are available in three different versions: the Traditional chinrest, the Profile 88, which is thinner and offers musicians another mouthpiece option, and the 13 Profile 88 series, which is in American pitch (440 Hz).

Ebonite, an optimal material for mouthpiece making.
Made from a mixture of natural rubber, sulphur and linseed oil, ebonite is shaped through a dozen or so steps to produce beautiful mouthpieces with over 90% of the outer surface polished. Only the top will remain rough in order to avoid any inaccuracy that would be caused by too much polishing.
