A rich and deep sound thanks to a new thickness. The V12 reeds are made from reeds whose diameter is identical to that used for the alto saxophone reeds. Thicker, these reed tabs offer a vibration on a wider range of sounds and their longevity increases naturally.
An artisanal and eco-responsible process. From reed planting to packaging in flow-pack which protects reeds from variations in humidity, Vandoren masters all the stages of production of its famous reed strips. Cut by hand, the canes are carried on the back of a man on the edge of a reed bed. They are then leafed, sun-dried, dried, sawn, arrowed, tabbed, bevelled, ... No less than fifteen separate production stages which produce a considerable volume of reed waste which is reused as fertilizer for reed beds or as fuel for heating factory. Music at the service of ecology!
Box of 10 reeds. The V12 reeds are cut from reed tubes with a diameter equivalent to that used for the alto saxophone reeds. As a result, they are thicker at both ends than traditional reeds. They vibrate on a longer palette and provide a rich, deep sound. The thickest part gives body to the attack and also increases the longevity of the reed. By comparison, a reed of strength 3 is roughly equivalent to a traditional reed of strength 2.5.
